My Reflections

By Maulana Abdul Mukith

Assalamualykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Many people have asked me to do vlogs and give updates, but the reality is, it’s been a very hectic journey and it’s been very difficult for me to give updates, but Alhamdulillah we have had brothers on the team who have been giving updates, but I thought I’ll give this one update before we leave for Makkah.

Firstly, Alhamdulillah this has been an epic journey. It’s by Allah’s tawfiq that we are here. Any effort of Dheen we do, we remember that Allah helps us.

We are no one special. Alhamdulillah Allah chose us to be here and it’s only by His tawfiq that we are here. This trip that we did, our aim was to raise funds for brothers and sisters in Syria. Over six year of conflict has left brothers and sisters without food and drink. They are in severe need for food and medical aid.

It is from our Dheen to feed our brothers and sisters. Alhamdulillah we are on £250,000 and need to reach our target of £1million. This is why we rode to Madinah. We could have just flown here. Please donate at www.hajjride.com.

Today (23rd August 2017) we will be leaving for Makkah and it’s such a sad feeling. Everyone should come here to experience the feeling (of being here). Am sure you’ve seen the welcome we received. The people of Madinah are amazing. It reminded us of the Ansar; the people here gave us their bikes as we couldn’t bring our own ones. People sang Tala Al Badru Alayna for us! None of us could hold back our tears. Amazing! I can’t put in words the emotions. Very overwhelmed by the support from around the world!

Just a reminder that we’ve done this for Syria, to help our brothers and sisters. We didn’t do this for recognition, fame or status. We are not special. It’s all from the tawfiq of Allah.

In the next few days we hope to perform Umrah in Makkah. We won’t be as responsive on social media so we can focus on our Ibadah. We urge you to push our appeal to help our brothers and sisters.

Alhamdulillah the journey had many amazing stories. We saw the brotherhood that we had and the difficulties that we went through. Insha’Allah maybe after Hajj, if there’s enough interests we can relate more stories.

Main lesson from this is, where there’s a will there’s a way. Allah gave us the Tawfiq that we are here. Make good intention to do any good work for Dheen and Allah will help you. Do whatever you can.

All the Hajj Riders will be busy in Ibadah during the Hajj Days. Please forgive us for any shortcomings. JazakAllah to everyone who helped us. It’s difficult to mention everyone; Human Aid, One Call Travels, Give Brite, ilmfeed and all brothers and sisters. May Allah reward you all with the best of rewards.

Wa’alykumussalam
